Chloé Carrière
Chloé Carrière, also known as Galactic Chloé, is a space technology engineer, science communicator, and creator of innovative projects aimed at making science accessible to all. Committed to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable scientific community, she speaks internationally to inspire the next generation and promote diversity in STEM fields.
In this intimate and powerful talk, Chloé Carrière shares her journey through the still largely male-dominated world of science and space exploration. Through striking personal stories, she reveals what it means to dream big in a world where the glass ceiling can sometimes be orbital.
From her early days at EPFL to her research with MIT and the ESA, Chloé also sheds light on the more difficult moments: bias, remarks, injustices, and silence. Through these experiences, she raises deeper questions about the culture of our scientific institutions: Who were they built for? Which narratives are celebrated? Which bodies are made visible… or invisible?
Drawing on data, film excerpts, societal references, interactive moments with the audience, and reflections on our cognitive biases, she invites us to envision a science that is more critical, more just—and above all, more human.
More than a personal account, this conference is a call to rethink our systems, challenge assumptions, and imagine a space—both literal and metaphorical—that is truly open to everyone.
