In what kind of world do we want to live?

Anastasia Mikova - Sustainability conference

Anastasia Mikova

Anastasia Mikova is a committed journalist and film-maker whose work has always focused on social and humanist issues.

This is the question that journalist and director Anastasia Mikova has been asking in her humanist and committed films for over fifteen years. Today, we cannot ignore the climate crisis we are facing. The diversity of ecosystems and plant and animal species is under threat. Our way of life, our daily choices, all have an impact on the world we live in. And the consequences of our actions are becoming increasingly visible.

In this talk, Anastasia Mikova will tell us about her gradual realization that ecology is not just one thing, and humanity another. Both are intimately linked. Not positioning herself as an expert, but speaking frankly and personally, she will testify to what she has discovered through her work and the influence it has had on her own way of living and grasping the environmental issues.

The director will talk about ecology, but above all she will explain her professional and personal approach to environmental issues. She will share her experience as editor-in-chief of the TV program "Vu du Ciel", for which she traveled the planet with Yann Arthus-Bertrand to meet real "heroes of nature", as well as the documentaries "Human" and "Woman", which give a voice to over 4,000 people around the world, and the "Meat Free Monday" campaign with Sir Paul McCartney. Without making people feel guilty, she will try to answer many questions that most of us ask ourselves: what can I do to improve the state of the planet? Isn't it already too late to act? Are we doomed to let our children suffer the consequences of our choices? How can we live more ecologically and responsibly without giving up on progress and comfort?

For director Anastasia Mikova, the aim of this conference is to restore our confidence in the future, without denying reality.
