Recruiting without discrimination

Recruiting without discrimination:
overcoming unconscious bias from sourcing to closing

Learning objectives

  • Conducting recruitment processes in an inclusive and non-discriminatory way
  • Identifying and preventing stereotypes and discriminatory reflexes in recruitment
  • Understand the legal framework and obligations in terms of non-discriminatory recruitment.

Recruitment is a particularly key corporate process, especially from a diversity and inclusion perspective. It's a time when unconscious bias can be at work at every stage: identification of need, job description, sourcing, candidate screening, employer communication, interviewing, candidate selection.

Understanding when bias can come into play in the process, and how to structure the hiring process to make it even more objective, is an essential key to building a more diverse and inclusive organization.

This training is structured around two main themes:

  1. Recalling the legal framework and identifying stereotypes and discriminatory reflexes that can be transmitted in the employer's communication, in the drafting of recruitment offers, in their distribution and during an interview (taking a step back from your tools).

  2. Understand the impact of unconscious bias in the recruitment process and adopt best practices to limit bias in selection and decision-making (identifying and evaluating skills only, asking the right questions to evaluate the right criteria, etc.).
