New narratives Fresk

This workshop aims at designing a future which is compatible with planetary limits, and likeable for all.

How can we do this? By providing a better understanding of the human dimension of the ecological transition and the importance of narratives in this transition.

In practical terms, the workshop is in two parts.

The first part is inspired by the Climate Fresk pedagogy. It aims at:

  • Raising awareness about how tales are important to human beings
  • Understanding that our current dominant narratives are barriers to the necessary transition, which helps us to understand why we do so little (or at least not enough to meet the challenges), despite our knowledge of ecological and social disorders thanks to the IPCC (climate) and IPBES (biodiversity) reports.
  • Pass on the good news! Human beings are not programmed to destroy the planet and set up unequal social systems. New narratives can convey ideas that get people moving on a massive scale, and so help to speed up the transition.

In the second part, participants create new narratives in sub-groups through different pathways,"Companies in the future world", which focuses on the transformation of organizations’ purposes and their associated business models.
