Textiles UnTangled

A fun, collaborative workshop to understand the environmental and social challenges of the textile industry.

Textiles UnTangled was co-created by Green Donut volunteers with a similar pedagogy to the Climate Fresk. It is a fun, collaborative 3-hour workshop. It aims at raising awareness and pass knowledge to participants about the environmental and social challenges facing the textile industry.

Every year, over 100 billion items of clothing are sold worldwide. Faced with a 60% increase in demand for clothing compared to 15 years ago, the textile industry has become one of the world's most polluting industries, with a major social impact (water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, use of toxic substances, workers exploitation, etc.). This workshop aims at understanding the impact of textiles on our environment and society, and to take action by identifying sustainable solutions that can be applied by all. Through discussion and mini-games throughout the workshop, participants will discover the ins and outs of the textile industry and define an action plan for a sustainable fashion.

At the end of the workshop, each participant is invited to think about the first actions he or she would like to implement as a priority, at both individual and company level.
