Florence Alix-Gravellier

Florence Alix-Gravellier is a Paralympic medalist, author and speaker. She shares her story to change the place, visibility and storytelling of differences.

Florence Alix-Gravellier is a Paralympic medallist, author, lecturer and Vice-President of the French Tennis Federation. She is also a member of the board and head of the Gender Equality in Tennis Committee of Tennis Europe, the European tennis federation.

Parity is progressing, but how do we anchor it at the highest level and give diverse leaders a central role in our performance? This is one of the central questions of this conference. To answer these questions, Florence Alix Gravellier will share her experiences, her doubts, her successes, her role models and her approach to gender equality in the workplace. She looks at the definition of success itself, which is too often linked to the notion of power, and at all the obstacles that prevent women from participating in decision-making circles, with the idea that diversity is a factor in improving collective performance.

This conference can also be run as an interview. In this case, we will work with you beforehand to define the questions that will be asked to Florence about her career and, more generally, about good practices in promoting gender equality and the representation of women in leadership positions.

Here are some examples of questions you might ask Florence:

  • Can you tell us about your career as a female manager in the world of sport?

  • What difficulties have you faced?

  • What are the main sexist comments or behaviours you have encountered?

  • Is there still a lot of sexism in sport and how is it characterised

  • What advice do you have on how to break through the glass ceiling?

  • How can everyday, silent sexism be reduced in organisations?

  • Do women and men have different perceptions of success?
